Description
Thornley Parish Council in County Durham is pleased to invite suitably qualified and experienced companies to submit tenders on a design and build basis for the construction of a pump track in Thornley. This project aims to create a vibrant and inclusive space for users of all ages and skill levels, promoting a sense of community and healthy and active lifestyles. It is expected to provide long lasting benefit to the community, constructed with longevity and quality at the forefront.
Tenders will be assessed against the Council's priorities which include approach and methodology, value for money, experience, health and safety and risk management, design and quality and a sustainable approach. Weightings are stated in the Council's tender documents.
The successful Contractor should have proven experience in delivering pump tracks, compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, relevant and sufficient insurance, financial stability and the necessary machinery. The scope of the works is in the tender documents. Tenderers should state their expected critical dates in the information submitted. All dates are to be agreed with the Parish Council.
The site is the former Thornley Colliery. An approximate location has been identified. Diagrams and photographs of the site are in the documents. Access to the site will need to be planned, and agreed at the appropriate time with the Parish Council.
Tenderers should ensure they understand the three tender documents, visit the site and then submit the completed Information and Quotation Form and all requested documents by email or post, by the closing time. Key dates are in the tender documents.
Please note the Council has not yet acquired funding for this full project. While the Council expects to go ahead with the pump track, a final design will be dependent on funding received and the Council's decisions on how the pump track should proceed. The successful tenderer will be notified that they are the chosen company and that the track will go ahead if/when required funding is received.
For any further information please email the Parish Clerk in good time before the closing date: clerk@thornley-pc.gov.uk. All details of how to apply are in the tender documents.
