Description

The BEEMS (British Energy Estuarine and Marine Studies) programme is funded by Cefas' client EDF Energy to provide authoritative scientific information on the marine and transitional waters in the vicinity of potential new build nuclear power stations.
Cefas has a requirement to conduct a survey to investigate the pelagic fish distributed around the cooling water intakes of the current Hinkley Point B (HPB) and new Hinkley Point C (HPC) power stations. These two sites, and a control site further offshore will be fished as many times as possible over a three-day period.
