Description

Scheduled Capital Refurbishment and Upgrade of the Aid to Navigation.
The proposed works principally involve the de-commissioning and removal of the obsolete optic lamp and electrical operating / monitoring system. It is the NLB's intention to retain the existing 4th order lens but replace the current optic within it using an RLS15-36 LED optic designed and manufactured by R&RNAV.

All electrical operating and monitoring systems will be replaced and tested to current electricity at work regulations BS 7671.

The lighthouse tower and adjoining building are to also be completely refurbished along with the application of protective and decorative coatings to all external and internal elevations.

A site visit is planned for Duncansby Head Lighthouse on Thursday 5 April 2018, should the weather conditions be a problem for travelling to site an alternative date will be arranged with all interested parties.
