Description

Warwickshire County Council is promoting a new Rugby Parkway station to the south east of Rugby adjacent to the A428 (Crick Road). The proposed station is to be constructed on the Northampton loop of the West Coast Main Line, with the car park entrance off the adjacent A428 Crick Road. The new station will be located between two existing bridges, Crick Road Underbridge (HNR UB81) and Eastfield Farm Overbridge (HNR OB80).

Warwickshire County Council has previously commissioned the start of a GRIP 3 study resulting in a draft Option Selection Report in February 2016.

Warwickshire County Council has recently applied for New Station Fund 2 funding. The progression of the project is dependent upon success with the application or identification of alternative source of funding.

A Principal Designer is to be appointed via a competitive tender exercise to conclude the GRIP stage 3 Single Option Selection study including surveys and deliver the GRIP Stage 4 Single Option Development outline designs and applicable supporting products and work streams.

Competence in all the key rail disciplines of Track, Signalling, Civil, E&P, M&E and Telecoms will be required. Tenders will only be accepted from entities that can satisfy Link Up accreditation requirements of applicable Product Codes

Competence in negotiations with key stakeholders including Network Rail, Train Operating Companies, Authorities and Agencies is paramount.
