Description

The Low Level Waste Repository (LLWR) is the UK's national disposal facility for low level radioactive waste since 1959. Waste is disposed of in engineered concrete vaults and where possible compacted, containerised, and grouted before placing in the vault. More than £100m has been invested in the facility since 1999 to preserve the site as the UKs long-term repository. LLW Repository Ltd is the current tier 1 licensed management and operations contractor that manages day to day activities on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). This procurement will support the site preservation goal by commissioning delivery of certain civil engineering works including construction of temporary drains, water run off and collection reservoirs, access roads, hardstanding areas. Further requirement details will be published in the Invitation to Tender document pack. LLWR aims to hold a Supplier Day to be held on 17th July in or near Drigg, Cumbria. Please confirm should you wish to attend (2 persons per organisation maximum).
