Description
The Removal and Reinstatement of The Retaining Wall and Associated Works at Stacey Close, Cradley Heath
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified building contractors for construction work at Stacey Close in Cradley Heath
Scope of Contract is as follows:
• Removal and reinstatement of a reinforced concrete/brick wall and supporting foundations.
• Reinstatement of the public highway and pavements
• Reinstatement of hard and soft landscaping to rear gardens
• Replacing garden sheds and out buildings complete with new foundations
• Minor alterations to surface water drainage
• Estimated contract value is £300,000
• Contract Duration 22 weeks commencing w/c 29th February 2016

• SE-102 Proposed Replacement Retaining Wall Details
• SE-104 Proposed Sections Through Retaining Wall
The tender documents will include bills of quantities, drawings, specifications and surveys
Expressions of interest are sought from applicants who meet the following pass/fail criteria
• Constructionline registered companies only
• Constructionline contracted minimum value of £300,000
• Constructionline registered for Building General and/or Civil Engineering categories
• Membership of recognised SSIP scheme
• Public Liability Insurance level of £5 million
• Employers Liability Insurance level of £10 million
• Asbestos awareness certified
• Details of any Prohibitions/Improvement notices
• Details of any RIDDOR referrals
1. Please provide details of two recently completed projects involving the construction of reinforced concrete retaining walls in similar situations.
2. Please provide details of one recently completed project where engineered compacted fill was required.
The required number of tenderers for the contract will be restricted to six. All applicants should provide their Constructionline registration number. All applications will be checked to ensure they meet the above criteria. Should more than six suitably applications be received, the Council will select a random choice to be issued a tender document. Should fewer than six applications be received the Council will pick a random selection from the Constructionline database to fulfil tendering requirements.
