Description

MIDAS is the inward investment agency for Greater Manchester, providing free of charge advice and assistance to national and international organisations looking to locate in the area or expand their existing operations. MIDAS' services include the provision of market research and labour information, assistance with finding property, access to grants and help to recruit and train staff.

The key deliverable of this project is for MIDAS to be provided with in-country representation and support services in India, preferably in Bangalore.

MIDAS has a remit to attract Indian investment to Greater Manchester and lead the commissioning and development of the India Strategy on behalf of the LEP and Greater Manchester.

The Manchester-India strategy proposes a number of thematic interventions that Manchester can take to maximise the impact of doing business with India over the coming decade, with the priorities being:-
1. Addressing Manchester's profile in India:
2. Make India, Innovate in Manchester:
3. A Manchester-India "Entrepreneur Bridge"
4. Establishing a direct air route

We require:
1. In-market delivery of the Manchester-India Strategy. Key elements of this include the delivery for the "Make in India, Innovate with Manchester" profile raising campaign; the creation of a Manchester-India Entrepreneur Bridge; and a company targeting plan.
2. The development of strategic relationships with relevant Indian national and regional government which will facilitate the wider Manchester-India promotion and engagement agenda. This will include the development of the a senior business network, as well as building cooperative relationships with key Indian partners.
3. Support in the delivery of the MIDAS inward investment strategy and the achievement of annual investment targets. This will include sourcing investment leads for MIDAS as well as supporting "live" investment projects. It is expected that this would also involve supporting the DIT Trade agenda in India
