Description
Mott MacDonald Limited has been appointed by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to deliver the Sierra Leone Secondary Education Improvement Programme (SSEIP - also known as Leh Wi Lan). This programme supports the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education to improve learning outcomes for boys and girls at secondary level and to increase the enrolment, retention and well-being of girls in secondary school. There is also a focus on students with disabilities.
Mott MacDonald is looking to subcontract a Disability Specialist organisation to work with us in Sierra Leone on training and assessment in relation to medical services and assistive devices provision for students with disabilities. This work will take place between November 2019 and March 2020.
Interested organisations must have:
• Established relationships with key stakeholders in Sierra Leone; these include Government of Sierra Leone, Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Local District Education Offices, and disability and rehabilitation service providers in all 16 districts.
• A successful track record developing and implementing Gender and Disability Responsive Education programmes with the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education.
• Implementation and operational capacity to reach students with disability in more than 1,680 secondary schools in all 16 districts.
• A highly skilled technical team to provide disability sensitive training and coaching in all 16 districts.
