The National Gallery will be seeking to procure a computed X-radiography system for transmission X-radiography of Old Master paintings, to advance their interdisciplinary scientific and art historical research. An adaptable system is required to work with paintings of a variety of sizes with dimensions ranging from a few tens of centimetres to several metres and weighing up to 300 kg. The new computed X-radiography system will replace the existing film-based X-ray "Art table" system currently used for X-raying painting at the Gallery and will be housed in the existing studio area.
