Description
North Somerset Council require the demolition of a decommissioned Police Station in Weston-super-Mare, built c1960s with associated buildings on the plot, including prefab garages and a link building to the old law courts.
The main Police HQ building is 6 storeys with a ground floor link building adjoining an old Magistrate's Court. The site includes preformed concrete garages and an underground oil tank which is to be removed/ back filled as part of the work. The main structure is concrete framework, cast concrete floors and concrete precast external panels to the façades (panels are mechanically fixed to the buildings framework).
North Somerset Council is not looking for a management company to manage these works, therefore we will only accept tenders from experienced demolition contractors.
It is the Council's intention to use the National Federation of Demolition Contracts (NFDC) Form of Direct Contract 2015 ed.
The Council are using an Open Tender procurement process i.e. a one stage process whereby all interested bidders can complete a tender in its entirety.
For a more detailed scope of the works and to find out our minimum requirements needed from a contractor in order for their tender to be considered, please refer to the Schedule of Works ITT Volume One and ITT Volume Two and relevant appendices, all available on our procurement portal www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk.
All evaluation criteria can be found within these documents on the portal.
Once you have understood our requirement, please could you let the council know if you intend to submit a tender via the 'intent to respond' option on the portal. This will ensure we arrange for enough time for the site visits which will be arranged in Mid August. All questions regarding this opportunity must be posed using the councils procurement portal.
