Description

The Improvement contract is to carry out maintenance to the small stone arch bridge on public footpath in the Parish of Churchstanton. The current bridge is a small stone arch culvert constructed under an old hedgebank adjacent to a redundant ford. The age of the bridge is unknown. The structure has partially collapsed and has vegetation growth, mortar loss and some missing masonry. Works include: • Removing vegetation and treating. • Installing a suitable de-watering system to create a dry working area. • Clearing silt from around and underneath the structure • Raking out old mortar where damaged or missing • Replacing missing masonry • Repointing where necessary.
