Description

Ensuring 'Nobody is Left Behind'
In 2018, the Council embarked on a large-scale engagement activity with residents, staff, members, partners and businesses to shape our vision for Surrey in 2030. Together we agreed that:
'By 2030 we want Surrey to be a uniquely special place where everyone has a great start to life, people live healthy and fulfilling lives, are enabled to achieve their full potential and contribute to their community, and no one is left behind.'
It is essential that the care and support provided by Surrey County Council's Adult Wellbeing and Health Partnerships Directorate enables us to deliver our Community Vision for 2030 and promotes the independence for our residents in all we do and offer.
We recognize that carers require support to maintain their caring responsibilities. Residential short breaks give people an opportunity to share experiences and socialise in their communities outside the family home, whilst enabling the family carer to maintain their own health and well-being by providing them with a break from their caring responsibilities.
In March 2023 Cabinet approved a remodelling of the short breaks offer to improve equity of access and diversity offer, and a capital investment to redevelop SCC's residential short breaks facilities. We also procure residential short breaks from other providers in the sector.
This Request for Information (RFI) seeks to gather views and intelligence that providers would like to offer to shape how best to take forward the procurement of operating a Residential short breaks scheme.
