Sandwell Council's Communications & Corporate Affairs Team is seeking quotations from an experienced contractor to print the Sandwell Herald newspaper in line with its current look for a two-year contract covering the period 1 February 2024 to 31 January 2026.
The most recent edition can be viewed at www.sandwell.gov.uk/herald
The number of Herald editions per annum will be subject to demand and budget. However, we anticipate up to six editions over the two-year contract.
The number of printed copies required per edition is up to approximately 147,000. This may be subject to change.
The successful supplier will also be responsible for printed copies to be bundled, strapped and, where required, labelled, and to arrange delivery into distribution centres.
The first edition under the contract will need to be delivered to distribution centres on Friday 23 February 2024. The council's preferred print date for this edition would be either Tuesday 20 February 2024 or Wednesday 21 February 2024.
We are seeking a high-quality print solution for the Sandwell Herald that helps to ensure residents in Sandwell are well-informed, can access key services and can take part in activities and events.
Research shows the Herald is the top council communications channel by which residents receive news and information about Sandwell, including key cost of living, safety and health advice. The Herald is particularly valuable for tackling digital inequality as this is the main way the council communicates with residents who are not online.
The content of the Herald represents and celebrates the diversity of Sandwell people as well as promoting a wide range of services, advice and community/voluntary groups that support people from all backgrounds and with various needs.
The Council will be using the In-tend e-Tendering System for this Procurement exercise, please visit https://in-tendhost.co.uk/sandwellmbc to access the Sandwell MBC In-tend Supplier Portal.
