Description

Portsmouth City Council are going out to tender on behalf of our partners in Hampshire, Southampton and the Isle of Wight for an All Age Support Service for those bereaved by suicide across the same regions.

The Service will provide support to those bereaved or affected by suicide who are resident across Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, with the overarching aim to support those who are experiencing high levels of distress and grief by supporting them to manage the impact of their bereavement and reduce the risk factors associated with this event.

The purpose of the service will be to provide:
o Single Point of Access: provision on bereavement support to those affected by suicide or suspected suicide from the point of bereavement
o Information Provision, Awareness Raising and Partnership Working; and,
o Training: Provision of training to upskill existing services including statutory and voluntary organisations.

The Council is aiming to commence the service on the 1st March 2025 pending assessment of suitable bids by providers.

The initial term of contract will be for 3 years with provisions to extend for a further 2 years beyond this, in increments to be agreed subject to the agreement of both parities and the performance of the supplier.

The estimated value of the contract over the full 5 year term is ?1,084, 495 (approximate annual value being ?216,899).
