Description
The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is the UK's National Measurement Institute and is a world-leading centre of excellence in developing and applying the most accurate measurement standards, science, and technology available.
The NPL requirement is for a high temperature mechanical test stage that can be mounted inside existing Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) at NPL. The testing stage should be able to conduct mechanical tests whilst allowing observation of the test piece either using the primary optics or using Electron Backscattered Diffraction (EBSD). Mechanical testing stage to fit within a Zeiss Auriga or Zeiss Supra SEM. The stage should be equipped with a load cell. And be able to heat the specimen to a temperature of at least 500 °C.
