Description

'Searching for Saxons in Lincolnshire: A Community Archaeology Project' is an innovative project that will rescue an archaeological site of national significance of which is at risk of complete obliteration by modern agricultural methods. This project will answer important scientific questions and provide opportunities for local communities to participate in an archaeological project. Searching for Saxons will enable local people and groups of various ages and abilities to work virtually alongside professional archaeologists to explore and re-think our current understandings of post-Roman Lincolnshire through a hitherto unknown early Anglo-Saxon cemetery site at Cammeringham, Lincolnshire, just a few miles north of Lincoln.
