Description

Expand the size of the room as currently proposed in the set of drawings in order to accommodate social distancing, greater public audience space, Individual councillor special requirements and allowing greater functionality of the space for activities other than official councillor meeting business (e.g. hire to other businesses for meetings and training etc)
- Provide 'hybrid meeting' equipment so that councillors and members of the public can observe and possibly participate in chamber meetings/activities. This is to include multiple mics to improve sound captured in the chamber, Wide-angle lens in order to broadcast all participating members in meetings and the ability for the Town Clerk to share online presentations shown in the chamber, etc.,
-Provide improved audio-visual capability in the chamber (e.g. large dropdown screen and speakers) in order to allow conference call participants both in the chamber and online the ability to participate, consider the hearing and visually impaired guidelines by the BBC (https://www.bbc.co.uk/editorialguidelines/guidance/visually-and-hearing-impaired-audiences),
- Maintain a 'traditional appearance' for the walls based on light-varnished wood panelling, as well as prominent positioning of Her Majesty's portrait, Town Mayor Boards and other ceremonial accoutrements of office (e.g. town coat of arms)
- Maintain a 'traditional appearance' for all furniture, but consider options to improve portability, storage and flexible use of the space
- Include a wood/glass 'heritage cabinet' so that awards, history, town twinning, etc. can be made more prominent to visitors. This should also include space for historic minute books to create an historic minutes library
- Follow plans to provide alternative entrance to a more central point and introducing double doors for easy accessibility along the west wall, depending on the load bearing wall requirement, with improved entrance features and signage on the door.

Optionally you may wish to bid for the work without quoting for the technical equipment, finishing off with cabling requirements only.
