Description
The Vollmer Research Group at the University of Exeter develops novel sensor technologies. They have developed an optical single-molecule sensor, so called "Whispering Gallery Mode Sensor (WGM sensor). Their next goal is to add spectroscopy to the established sensor system. To achieve this goal, a dedicated, widely tunable, narrow linewidth CW laser system is needed.
They require a narrow linewidth (~1 MHz) laser system operating at nominal ~ 800 nm wavelength with coarse wavelength-tuning capability (~300 nm) and ~25 GHz of mode-hop free fine-tuning capability which will be required for sensor operation by swept-wavelength scanning at ~100 Hz.
Applicants will be required to register their interest for the relevant tender documents on the University of Exeter's electronic tendering 'In-Tend' System (http://in-tendhost.co.uk/universityofexeter/asp/home.asp) The procurement exercise is completely managed via this electronic system and only registering on http://in-tendhost.co.uk/universityofexeter/asp/home.asp will ensure that you receive all the relevant information and follow-up document. Registration is free of charge to potential suppliers.
