Description

This second phase of the project comprises improvements to the various areas within the council house complex , identified as the First Floor (office space), Second Floor ( office space) and Basement areas of the Building.
The Phase 2 scope of work includes generally for internal improvements to the existing accommodation in all of these areas to include replacement of existing floor finishes, replacement suspended ceilings and decoration throughout. In addition new mechanical extraction and heating systems will be installed to serve the first and second floor areas .
In addition to the above a number of identified areas within the basement area will have building alterations and remodelling work to suit the changing use of these areas and to improve and upgrade the existing building facilities.
The work to these special areas will include demolition and alterations , new floor , wall and ceiling finishes together with new electrical works, and small power, lighting and ITC throughout as well as alterations to the existing mechanical services within these areas to suit the new arrangement.

In addition to the above works, the opportunity will be taken to renew the pitched slated roof finish to the main Council Chamber Building , a three story building of significant stature and architectural importance.
The opportunity will also be taken to replace a number of outdated electrical distribution boards and panels within the works area , as well as improving accessibility throughout the area of works .

The Work areas identified above and identified on the drawings ( First floor, Second floor and Basement) will be decanted of council personal and furniture) for duration of the works. However the rest of the main council house (ground floors and first floor management suite ) together with the adjacent buildings will remain occupied and in use throughout this phase of the works.
