Description

Under the Children and Families Act 2014, Calderdale Council is required to make arrangements to support and deal with disputes regarding plans, assessments and services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) aged 0-25. The contract will commence on 01 April 2025 and will run for 3 years, with a possible extension of one or more periods to a maximum of 2 years. Due to the nature of this service, work requests will only be made as and when required - there is no guarantee of work associated with this contract. It is recognised that there will be times when parents and young people will not agree with the decisions that the Council and its partners have made. The mediation and disagreement resolution process allows all parties to come together to see if an agreement can be reached. It is less expensive and less stressful for all partners than allowing a dispute to reach the Tribunal stage. Wherever possible, the Council would like any disagreement to be resolved before a Tribunal.
