Description

The University of Portsmouth has secured European Regional Development Funds (ERDF) to deliver the EMphasis3 CO2 Reductions project which aims to support the shift towards a low carbon economy in the Enterprise M3 area by promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy use in SMEs and promoting research and innovation in, and adoption of low carbon technologies. Part of this provision will be at least 135 Energy efficiency Audits for SMEs based predominantly in the South of England, supported by a grant programme with an award for successful SMEs.

The successful supplier will perform a minimum of 135 energy efficiency audits with SMEs. The SMEs involved will be a mixture of companies recruited to the project by the successful supplier and referrals from the University of Portsmouth's Greentech South team and other partners. To qualify, the audit and engagement with an SME must include an energy survey with reporting and recommendations.

The aim of carrying out the energy efficiency audits is to identify potential CO2 savings in excess of 50,000 tonnes and to reduce CO2 emissions over the project period of thirty months by at least 2,000 tonnes.
