This research is being commissioned to provide Historic England with a clearer understanding of the impacts of the advice that the organisation provides on planning applications and listed building consent.
Providing advice represents a significant proportion of Historic England's operational expenditure, and a better understanding of the conservation, economic and social outcomes that arise from this work is essential for the organisation in its mission to provide public value.
