Description
The London Borough of Bexley (hereafter the Commissioner) is seeking to commission a Cook and Eat Classes programme to provide residents with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to cook healthy food on a budget.
The service will take a proportionate universalism approach, open to all Bexley residents but focused in the borough's areas of highest need to help reduce local health inequalities.
The service will be made up of the following elements:
• A five-week Cook and Eat Class Programme providing Bexley residents with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to cook healthy and nutritious food on a budget.
• To deliver at least 15 programs with up to 15 individuals/families across the year, concentrating in North Bexley area and extending to the rest of the borough as required.
• Identify and train individuals from community groups or organisations to be able to deliver Cook and Eat Classes, trained to an accredited standard, such as the OCN accredited level course in Healthy Eating and Running a Cookery Club.
Providers should have local strategies in place for providing information to both clients and professionals on the choices available within the service and on access to the service.
