Description
Overview of Requirements
The service received from the University's current uniform supplier comprises four separate parts:
Manufacture of Garments
A range of fifteen different student and staff garments are required by the University in standard and non-standard sizes, with all tops displaying a two-colour embroidered logo. The selected supplier is required to manufacture these items and maintain sufficient stocks to ensure orders throughout the academic year are delivered quickly and efficiently.
The University and the current supplier have jointly developed the current range of garments for the health students as notified in the specification section of this document.
Measuring & Issue Service
When the student intake arrives at the University in September, the supplier will need to run events on both the Canterbury and Medway campuses (2 days at each campus plus a set-up day) where students are measured, and the correct garments (in the appropriate sizes) are issued on the same day. This ensures there are no delays for students starting their placements. Currently around 95% of garments are issued to students during their first week. Following the measure and issues days there are also two exchange days run by the suppliers, one at each campus.
Placement Badges
All new students are issued with magnetic placement badges with the students' preferred first name, current course, and the University logo.
On-line Store
Students who require additional or replacement garments after the Measure & Issue day must be able to order these directly from the chosen supplier. It is expected that the successful supplier will provide an on-line store to facilitate a simple ordering process for students where the cost of the uniform and delivery is payable by the student. All transactions/communications for this service will be directly between the student and the company.
An online website is also required for the Faculty to be able to directly order additional uniform to be delivered to the Canterbury campus.
