Description
The three HV generators in Level C boiler house provide power in the event of an outage to the
essential electrical supplies of substantial parts of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH) site.
Generators have a life expectancy of 20 - 25 years, and the ones at RHH are 46 years old, and
obsolete.
This scheme comprises of: The design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and setting into use of:-
3no HV generators (rated nominally at 2.5 - 3 MVA, which are large capacity),
HV Switchgear and controls
1no LV generator
LV Switchgear modifications and Controls
HV & LV cabling
Generator exhaust flues/ cleaning systems
Provision of temporary generators to cover the full load for the duration of the works
