Description

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is currently removing external cladding from Adair Tower and Hazelwood Tower, two 14 storey tower blocks located in the north of the Borough.

It is intended to replace the cladding on both buildings with an A1 certified fire rated cladding system while at the same time replacing aluminium windows and balcony doors.

The Council is looking to engage an architect that has the direct experience and immediate capacity to undertake the design of the cladding, windows and balcony doors to both towers through to and including RIBA Stage 4.

A structural surveyor has been separately engaged to consider the load that replacement cladding may put on the buildings. Having the direct experience of designing a cladding system that is A1 certified fire rated is an imperative.
