Description

The purpose of this questionnaire is to allow us to identify a number of suitably qualified and experienced suppliers who will be invited to submit a tender for this competition. A minimum of five and a maximum of eight organisations will be invited to submit a tender.

South Downs National Park Authority is looking to appoint a suitably experienced contractor to deliver this exciting project to transform the visitor experience at Seven Sisters Country Park. The appointed contractor will have experience in delivering sensitive projects within the context of listed buildings and significant landscapes.

The works to be carried out as part of this project are the implementation of a range of improvements, alterations and urgently needed conservation works to the buildings. The project will conserve and enhance the heritage and bring about an improvement to the visitor experience by providing more opportunities for residents and visitors to Seven Sisters Country Park.

The proposed works comprise:
o Improvements and repairs to the existing Visitor Centre Barn;
o Improvements and repairs to the existing Rangers Offices;
o Repairs and conversion to the existing toilet block to create a new Grab and Go catering offer;
o Repairs and conversion of the Diary Barn to create new offices and volunteers' facilities;
o Repairs and conversion to the existing workshop to create new public toilets;
o Landscaping improvements around the Exceat site;
o Internal alterations and external repairs to the Camping Barn and an extension to the facilities building;
o Urgent repairs to Foxholes Cottages.

The appointed contractor is expected to have a proven track record in the repair and conversion of listed buildings; an exemplary Health and Safety record in working on sites with public access; a positive approach to managing change and working closely with the design team; and an ability to deliver construction projects to the highest standard and on programme.
