ASC096 - Provision of an Enhanced Assessment Beds Service
The Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell wishes to appoint multiple Contractor(s) to provide an Enhanced Assessment Nursing Beds Service within care homes that are registered with the Care Quality Commission and are located within the borough of Sandwell.
For the provision of these services, the Lots available to tender will be as follows:
Service 1
o Lot 1 - Enhanced Assessment Nursing and Nursing Dementia Beds
Service (35 beds)
o Lot 2 - Enhanced Assessment Nursing and Nursing Dementia Beds
Service: non-weight bearing only (2 beds)
Service 2
o Lot 3 - Enhanced Assessment Residential and Residential Dementia Beds Service (12 beds)
Service 3
o Lot 4 - Enhanced Assessment Step Up Nursing and Step Up Dementia Nursing Beds Service (5 beds)
Service 4
o Lot 5 - Complex Nursing Dementia Beds Service (4 block + 2 spot beds)
The Enhanced Assessment Beds Service has as its primary function the prevention of admission to hospital or facilitation of discharge from hospital through a rapid, co-ordinated response and by operating 7 days a week. The service specifications outline
the main aims of the provisions, the services to be provided within the contract and the connections to other services in the community. Contractors must take into consideration the underlying principles of the Care Act 2014 in their delivery of the service.
Tenderers should note that the Council has a set bed rate for each Service, which can be found in within the Invitation To Tender (ITT) documentation.
The duration of the contracts will be one (1) year from 1 October 2021 to 30th September 2022, with an option to extend for an additional one (1) year (with agreement), taking the contract end date to 30th September 2023.
