Description

The University of Leeds is looking to purchase two large-scale chambers for conducting accelerated ageing of construction materials. We are not necessarily looking for chambers which will precisely adhere to specific standards. However, we will be looking for solutions which allow us to expose specimens to controlled, aggressive environments such that their deterioration can be accelerated, i.e. controlled gas atmospheres, controlled temperature and humidity, plus exposure to other aggressive agents. These chambers should each have an external size no greater than 3 x 3 m (essential) and offer walk-in access (essential) so that researchers may enter the chambers and place specimens for ageing. We will be looking to expose samples of various dimensions, but up to 2 m long, so the ability to house specimens up to 800kg in weight is needed.
