Description
Quotation for Insurance Claims Management Database
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (the Council) currently uses a claims management system to handle insurance claims on behalf of the Council and West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority.
The claims handling system holds detailed information on all of the insurance claims handled by eight knowledgeable, professional and experienced staff within the Risk and Insurance Services team since 1991/92. The system currently holds information relating to more than 50,000 claims.
The new claims handling system will be required to assist Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council to comply with GDPR, DPA and SMBC's Corporate ICT Strategy as well as help deliver Vision 2030 objectives.
Background
The Council's Figtree insurance claims handling system is currently used to handle insurance claims on behalf of the council and West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority.
The current system holds a significant amount of data (approximately 100GB) and it is crucial that there is the facility if required for this data to be migrated accurately and timely.
The Council is seeking to appoint an IT software firm to provide an insurance claims database. The core service requirements are:
Record, manage and process claims.

? Accurate migration of historic and current data.
? Compatible with Citrix, Microsoft Outlook, Office applications Windows 10 and 7 and Outlook to allow compliance with the Council's Corporate ICT Strategy.
? Compatible with Oracle e-Business Suite Financials.
? Process large amounts of data quickly and accurately.
Returned quotations will be evaluated based on the most economically advantageous quotation in accordance with the award criteria.
The initial contract will be for a five year period with a view to extending to a further two years at the option of SMBC subject to satisfactory performance of the system.
The proposed contract commencement date is 1st March 2019.
