Description
Birmingham City Council requires a supplier for the provision of hardware and software to be used for the visualisation of planning and development proposals.
A requirement has been identified within Planning service for group and individual viewing of computer generated 3D models to support design, design review and consultation activities.
It is proposed that 3D models of proposed buildings will be provided to the Council by architects or developers. Members of City Design Team will view and make any required amendments to the model. The model will then be viewed in a design room at Council offices using an active-shutter stereoscopic projector to facilitate discussions relating to the design. Models may also be viewed using a head-mounted display (HTC Vive) already belonging to the Council. Models will also be displayed at Planning Committee for councillors, using a larger stereoscopic projector.
