Description

• A design for 'long-term' field laboratories to investigate the effects of conservation actions on hydrology and key ecosystem services (biodiversity, water flow, water quality (esp. fluvial carbon), water tables, loss of eroded peat particles and peat accumulation behind gully blocks).
• A design for intensive field trials to provide an early indication of the results of the longer-term trials.
• Identifying and installing equipment to be used for monitoring hydrology and key ecosystem services within the long-term field laboratories and short-term intensive field trials.
• A design for monitoring plans/schedules for MFFP staff to collect data from field equipment.
• A design (and production) of robust protocols to cover data collection/storage/initial processing within MFFP.
• Collation and analysis of data to provide structured scientific reports on the effects of conservation actions on hydrology and key ecosystem services, both from long-term and short-term trials.
• Communication of progress internally to MFFP using: (i) quarterly updates; (ii) structured annual reports
• Investigate relationships between vegetation survey data and remotely-sensed vegetation survey data .
• Production of Final report.
