The Accommodation and Support Services allows both offenders and defendants to remain outside of the prison environment when they do not have an address to reside, providing them with accommodation and a range of support services to ensure they are safely managed within the community. The Authority is intending to award a national contract for the Services required, and encourage and welcome the formation of Consortiums, Joint Ventures etc for the delivery of Services.

The Authority will be undertaking engagement with the market and keep abreast of any developments from planned Welfare Reforms, some of which are linked with the social housing sector, and which may have an impact on the operating model going forward. Knowledge of the reform developments will be key in the development of bids and contributing to the Authority's development of options for a longer term accommodation strategy and shaping future services. The Authority is also currently extending the scope of accommodation and services, and the potential for extending these to a wider range of service users who would otherwise be placed into custody, will need to dovetail into the longer term strategy.
Market Engagement
It is intended that the Authority will host a market engagement event towards the end of April 2017 . Details will be provided to those who have registered an interest in the opportunity. Following the briefing, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Authority and network with other interested organisations. Further information will be issued upon registering to attend the event.
