Description

The Council wishes to award multiple contracts for the Provision of Substance Misuse Recovery and Treatment Services.

The Office of Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) informed Local Authorities of their intention to award indicative sums of additional funding to support improvements in the quality and capacity of local drug and alcohol treatment systems in 2022/23 to 2024/25.
OHID has confirmed the Council's allocation for 2022/23 and provided indicative sums for the following years, which are subject to annual approval. The Council has set aside budget that is required to continue interventions initially funded in 2021/22 via the grant for additional drug treatment crime and harm reduction activity (Universal Drug Treatment funding) plus other expenditure identified from the menu of interventions for the Supplemental Substance Misuse treatment and Recovery Grant for County Durham.

Additional text

The Council wishes to award contracts from bidders whose Bid Proposals include a three-year trajectory that contributes towards the national ambition.

The funding envelopes are indicative and may change, given this, any award made will be subject to funding and budget availability. Proposals submitted from Bidders may need to be amended in light of any funding changes, this will be done in negotiation with providers following award.

Any initiatives funded by the Universal Drug Treatment Grant from 2021-22 will continue to be funded and therefore do not require a tender submission. The budget for existing projects is protected.
