Description
The Analytical Chemistry laboratory at Cefas Lowestoft has a requirement for one cryogenic mill to support trace metals analysis for a wide range of key government monitoring programmes. The system will be capable to cryogenically grind up to 20 ml of sediment/sand and/or plastic pellet samples in preparation for chemical analysis.
Requirement:
1. One (1) cryogenic mill
2. One (1) set of consumables to support the use of cryogenic mill
3. Costed as an option: One (1) closed liquid nitrogen system, including safe, continuous feeding system to cryogenic mill.
The following features are required:
- Grinding to a final fineness of ca 100µm or below
- 1 x feed of ca 20ml
- Minimum feed size of 5mm
- No interference with trace metals analysis of samples (i.e. Al, Fe, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, etc...)
- Safe operation with minimal risks to liquid nitrogen handling
- Low consumption of liquid nitrogen
- Programmable grinding cycles that can be tailored for samples
- If proposed, closed liquid nitrogen system to allow the grinding of ca 10-20 samples before Dewar refill. Please provide shelf life of the vessel.
Equipment must be provided along with all additional items, fixtures and fittings required to make the equipment fully operational for the purposes it is required, taking into consideration:
- All equipment will be supplied as new from high quality respected manufacturers and suppliers
- Can meet the specification guaranteed to satisfy the requirements detailed in Schedule 1
- All equipment must be designed to operate in the conditions under which it will be used
- Please provide pre-installation site requirements.
Delivery and Installation Requirements:
It is important to Cefas that delivery is made before or during WC 21st March 2022 to ensure payment by end of FY.
The equipment is required to be delivered/installed to Cefas Lowestoft, NR33 0HT
All pricing provided must be inclusive of delivery 'INCOTERM DDP' if item is being imported.
