Description

Wingerworth Parish Council are working with G F Tomlinson Group Ltd on a design and build contract to refurbish the existing Hall located on New Road, Wingerworth, S42 6TB.

The Hall is made up of two sections, the original building dating back to the early 1900's (aka Community/Library Room), and an adjoining extension (Main Hall) which was added in the late 1960's. In essence they are two separate facilities but with a common front entrance. The aim is to bring the Parish Hall up to 21st Century Standards with a minimum design life of 30 years hence.

Funding for the project will be secured through a loan, this is subject to approval by the Secretary of State for the Department for Communities and Local Government.

We are looking to procure a qualified quantity surveyor, with relevant quantity surveyor qualifications and experience, to act as an Independent Assessor. This individual will support the Council to oversee the project to its successful conclusion until the Hall is handed over to the Parish Council. This will include liaising with the contractors on behalf of the Parish Council, attending site meetings, reporting back on any significant changes to cost or time, and negotiating, where applicable, on changes in costs and timescales.
