Description
A contract has been awarded to Harness Care Ltd as per the notice issued on 29th March 2022 (CF-0731100D0O000000rwimUAA1). The intention is for the service provision to transition to nationally specified Network DES Commissioning (GMS core) beyond September, which will lead to an integrated combined access offer as an integral part of the PCN Network Contract DES delivered to 100% of the population it serves. The new contract is required to ensures service continuity.
NWL CCG requires the provision of after-hour service. This service must be delivered by a group of GP providers to all patients registered with their constituent practices, ensuring equity of access and quality of service provision to the entire population group. Where there is more than one group of GP providers within the geographical boundaries of the respective CCG, the groups may operate collectively. The GP provider grouping and location(s) of delivery of the service (number of delivery points) will need to be agreed with the commissioning CCG.
The CCG is commissioning an Extended Hours Service (EHS) that supports its strategic commissioning intentions for:
- Improving patient access to high-quality urgent and routine primary care.
- Improving the patient experience of primary care.
- Promoting the appropriate use of urgent and routine primary care services through the redirection of patients to the right service for their health needs.
The aims of this service will be achieved through the provision of Extended Hours delivery points or 'hubs' by way of providing additional opening hours in Primary Care.
