Description
Magdalen College School (the client), situated on the border of Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire is an Academy Trust coeducational comprehensive school serving the 11-19 age range.
The school has approximately 1380 pupils and a staff complement of circa 160.
The contract covers the scope for the provision of all school catering services, including the St John's sixth form site.
The tender project is seeking to appoint a supplier whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of catering services within the client's facilities. The high quality service levels proposed, should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for both the pupils and staff.
The contract being tendered is for 3 years in duration from 1.4.2020 until 31.3.2023, with the potential for an extension of up to a further 2 years (upon mutual agreement and on the same terms and conditions as the original contract duration). The contract currently generates a return for the school and operates on a fixed cost basis.
The successful supplier will be expected to source all fresh produce on a local basis, especially fresh meat, bakery and fruit and vegetables.
The emphasis for this service is on achieving 'best value' and the successful supplier will be expected to demonstrate innovation, flexibility and commercialism.
Please note that the successful supplier will pay The Litmus Partnership a consultancy fee on award of this contract, which will be to the value of 2 500,00 GBP plus VAT. This fee will be invoiced immediately on contract award (w/c 27 January 2020). To ensure transparency, the supplier will clearly show within the management fee a breakdown of this consultancy fee, over the length of the contract. The total fee will be paid by the successful supplier, in full to The Litmus Partnership, by no later than 30 days from receipt of invoice.
The approximate current value of this contract is c. 250 000 GBP p.a.

The contracting authority will not be liable for any costs incurred by those expressing an interest in tendering for this contract opportunity.
The contracting authority will consider variant bids, evaluating them (so far as the variant or the evaluation of the variant is in the opinion of the contracting authority practicable) on the same basis as a conforming bid, but shall not be obliged to accept any such bid in preference to a conforming bid even if the variant bid scores more highly. No variant will be considered unless the bidder simultaneously submits a conforming bid.
