Description

The City of London Corporation (the City) invites Tenders for the provision of York Way Estate Corridor and Lift Lobby Refurbishment Works.
The planned works concern the refurbishment of the internal communal lobbies and corridors at the three named blocks. Replacement of the district central heating, new fire doors and compartmentation to flat entrances, lobby, corridor, staircases, and risers have been recently installed. There are also 4 new buildings currently under construction on the site.

The refurbishment of the internal communal lobbies and corridors will improve the appearance and safety of the buildings whilst enhancing each building entrance lobby with new block signage and colour, increasing the pride of residents in their buildings, reducing the potential for future vandalism and damage. The colours have been selected to acknowledge the rural history of the site through muted, earthy tones, and the material choice of porcelain terrazzo tiles will reference proposals for the new buildings designed by Maccreanor Lavington Architects.

The following works to communal areas will be carried out under the scope of this project:

- New ceilings to sit beneath retrofitted heating systems (to be coordinated with new fire doors and compartmentation)
- New lighting
- Redecoration of internal walls/doors/joinery
- New flooring and skirting
- Improving general signage and identity
- Replacement of electrical sockets

NB. Staircases are excluded from this scope.

The estimated contract value given is for the full duration of the contract including the maximum possible extensions. The estimated annual contract value is therefore approximately £500,000
