Description

2. The CMA would like to commission an external research and evaluation project looking at approaches to assessing potential competition theories of harm and evaluating past merger decisions in the technology sector. The aim of the project is to draw lessons from relevant economic theory and literature on technology markets, and from reviews of past techonology merger decisions, in order to inform the CMA's assessment of the impact of potential competition and the likelihood that the potential would be realised in future technology merger cases.
