Description

De Montfort University's Weave Workshop services around 400 students studying textiles construction. It has a mixture of Dobie and table looms currently has a capacity of around 25 students who are taught how to thread and operate the equipment. Students operate the equipment independently after an initial induction session.

The Weave Workshop currently features eight Dobie looms which although still perfectly serviceable are not fully suited to teaching a modern weaving curriculum; the University wishes to replace these looms with new Arm Looms. The University is open to potential part-exchange or purchase and disposal of the existing Dobie looms.

The most competitive pricing possible within the total budget ceiling of £90,000 inclusive of delivery, installation and commission is sought from bidders.

In order to minimise disruption, delivery, installation and commissioning of the Looms are required to take place during University break periods, the next of these being the University's Summer break, commencing July 2019. The Looms are required installed and operational by Monday 16th September 2019.

All other information relating to Award Criteria, evaluation and the full specification etc can be found within our RfQ document for this procurement loaded on the Intend e tendering portal https://in-tendhost.co.uk/demontfort/aspx/Home
