Description

Education School Catering commenced work with Rotherham Schools to implement cashless systems for meals in secondary over 15 years ago. Upgrades to the system have taken place on an ad-hoc basis to ensure the continuity of the system which provides a safe and effective way for pupils to pay for their school meal. The annual maintenance agreement has been renewed as part of this process. The requirement is to upgrade the existing secondary provision to a biometric system, compatible with the school network which allows downloading of new starter information straight from the management information system making the whole process easier and faster. As this requirement is an integral part of the daily operation for the payment of schools meals the successful contractor would be expected to work in close partnership with the Education Catering Service. The system forms part of the trading arrangement with the in-house service level agreement/contract and therefore lack of performance of the technology, maintenance or customer service will jeopardise the overall service of the Catering Units. This agreement will be for initially for a period of one year, with the option to extend at the sole discretion of RMBC for a further two years, each on a year by year basis. The estimated value of this agreement is approx. £150,000 however this does not carry any guarantee of turnover and any estimated volumes of business are indicative and may vary upwards or downwards depending on actual future needs.
