Description

Birmingham City Council requires a supplier for the provision of a bespoke business diagnostic support service for home care providers who have been unsuccessful following a recent tender exercise.

The Council has made a conscious decision to help support the unsuccessful providers (and of course the affected citizens) and therefore will be giving them a transition period up to 1 year to
refocus their business to adapt to the change in their circumstances, some who may have held contracts for a number of years.. Citizens who currently receive services from these providers
will have the option to continue using their providers who have not been successful under a direct payment relationship if they wish to do so.

The Council is therefore proposing to commission a specialist provider to deliver business diagnostic support and service development support to providers of adults' and children's social care in Birmingham. The support will target providers who were not successful in joining the new 2019 Home Support Framework. The business support will assist the providers with looking at new market opportunities that may include use of personal budgets to fund service delivery, service re-design and new service development and delivery such as the self-funders market i.e. citizens who need care and can pay for it themselves.

This contract will be for a period of 12 months commencing 10th April 2019.
