Description

Eco-innovation Cumbria is an ERDF funded 4-year programme to help SMEs improve efficiency, grow capacity and develop new solutions for industry.

Eco-Innovation Cumbria will help SMEs to increase innovation in low carbon technologies and encourage their adoption. Through research and innovation and the development of higher level skills, it will enable businesses to grow capability in developing new products and markets thereby enhancing the growth of the low carbon and environmental goods sector within Cumbria.

Eco-Innovation Cumbria will provide a variety of free workshops and events around Cumbria to explore innovation challenges. It will also develop collaborative research projects between the University, its partners and SMEs.

The project is led by the University of Cumbria, with partners Lancaster University and UCLan. All events will take place within Cumbria and the majority will be at UoC sites.

The programme has a full time project manager who will oversee UoC activity and act as the key point of contact for partner universities, beneficiary clients and the successful tenderer. Roles and responsibilities are set out in ITT Section E, including the requirements of the successful contractor.

The University of Cumbria requires services to provide the workshops and events around Cumbria to explore a range of innovation challenges.

Our specification includes:
o Consultation on, and design of events appropriate to University, partner and SME requirements.
o Facilitation and planning of events, in consultation with the University and its partners.
o Recommendation and procurement of specialist speakers. Speakers may be drawn from the University and/or participating universities, from expert/external speakers, or from your pool of associates. These should be recommended at appropriate points through the project for approval by University of Cumbria.
