Description
The Council is looking to procure Body Transfer services on behalf of HM Coroner. In the unfortunate case of a violent, sudden, or suspicious death it is the responsibility of the Coroner to remove bodies from the scene to a selected mortuary or body storage facility in order to complete the necessary investigation.
A maximum of three Providers will be promoted to each Lot. These Providers will be ranked according to highest overall final evaluation score. The highest scoring provider will be the Primary provider for that geographical Lot/Zone with the other successful providers within the Lot (Zone) being the alternative (according to rank) if the primary provider is unable to provide the service. The Lots are coterminous with the Zones. Each Lot aligns with a geographical zone across the Devon County Council Coroner's jurisdiction. The deceased is to be collected as directed by the Police Control Room and the Coroner's office and transported to North Devon District Hospital and any other location as directed by the Coroner. The expected value is £750,000.
There will be a tenderer event held via Microsoft Teams on 10th June 2021 at 10am in relation to this tender. The event will be focussing on the Tender Process and will explain the ITT and the other documents as well as useful information to enable Tenderers to be 'tender ready'. There will be an overview of the service requirement from commissioners of the service and there will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the event. Whilst every endeavour will be made to answer questions at this event, it may be necessary to respond at a later date. The presentations and questions and answers given will be made available via ProContract. To ensure that this event is of the most benefit, tendering organisations are encouraged to ensure that persons attending are the most appropriate i.e. persons who will be constructing and making decisions about any tender submitted. In order to book a place, please e-mail oliver.reed@devon.gov.uk for the meeting invite to be sent to you.
