Description

Greater London Authority's (GLA) is seeking an organisation(s) to develop and delivery of a community development masterclass programme to take place between 2022 and 2024. The masterclass programme is to run over three cohorts, with a minimum of 100 attendees in each cohort, drawn from a wide range of health focused agencies across London.

The GLA will help to promote the masterclass to recruit attendees and work across London's health partnerships to promote the community development approach.
The Greater London Authority is seeking to fund an organisation to deliver a series of health community development masterclasses to share learning and best practice on what works at the community or neighbourhood level to develop healthy and resilient communities.

This series of masterclasses - with three cohorts - will take place over 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The masterclasses will be open to individuals from locally focused organisations (predominantly public sector or faith, voluntary and community sector (FVCSE)) who wish to:
• Further their knowledge and skills to develop or commission community-centred activity or programmes, particularly those related to health inequalities, health and wellbeing tackling structural inequalities, structural racism and income inequalities;
• Network with others at a regional and/or sub-regional level who have an interest in community-centred approaches to improving health and wellbeing.
• Be actively working/volunteering in this space, with some existing experience, for example as Community Champions.

Aims

• To optimise and increase the effectiveness of local community-centred approaches to tackle health inequalities and structural inequalities improving health and wellbeing and resilience across London's most disadvantaged communities.
• To empower policy makers, commissioners and practitioners working with London's most disadvantaged communities who would like to mainstream community-centred approaches, to articulate and make the case
• A shared understanding, language and enthusiasm for community empowerment
Deliverables

• Design and preparation of masterclasses, building on the previous masterclass session, utilising the workbook and the evaluation recommendations.
• Masterclasses to be run during 2022, 2023 and 2024, for a minimum of 100 attendees each year, across a mix of sectors and across London five Integrated Care System areas (see appendix). We recognise there are multiple ways that could be organised.
• Masterclasses to utilise online and face-to-face activity (as safe to do so).
• This should include follow-up sessions, action learning sets, coaching or similar to review how participants have put the learning into practice; noting the evaluation recommendations for more opportunities for networking and sharing learning.
