Description
The decision to transplant or discard is one of the hardest a surgeon can make, particularly with the growing number of organs from older donors and those with comorbidities.
Discard rates average 15-20%, however, over-caution may be preventing thousands of dialysis-dependent patients from returning to a normal life and condemning hundreds more to death each year.
Pre-transplantation biopsies, where performed, can provide additional reassurance over organ condition and likely final function, particularly from high risk donors. But biopsy is not without its own controversy, and decisions regarding single or dual transplant remain difficult.
Accunea now provides clinicians with direct, objective, functional and metabolic measurements to suit a wide range of clinical practice - from hypothermic storage to normothermic reperfusion methodologies. With this evidence to hand, clinicians will find the hard decisions easier to make.
Accunea have an existing medical device which has been used to test their core measurement technology. There is a requirement for modification and improvement to make it modular so that alternative parts and technical approaches can be tested.
Accunea is seeking a consulting firm that have expertise in sensor technologies, electronics, software development, mechanical and an understanding of the regulatory environment for medical devices.
This request for quotation is to invite suppliers to quote for support on device development providing services including, but not limited to, rates for mechanical design, software development, manufacture, electronic and system design.
Budget: up to 120,000 + VAT
Please note that the budget is not committed to the supplier if the contract is secured.
