Description

The objective of this project is to determine the efficiency improvements that Highways England should be capable of making through improving the way that the company manages its portfolio and programmes of capital projects (improvements and renewals to the strategic road network) during Road Period 2 , .
There are four main components to this project.

(1) An assessment of Highways England's current portfolio and programme management capability;
(2) An assessment of Highways England's plans to improve capability by the end of Road Period 1;
(3) Establishing an improvement trajectory for Highways England's portfolio and programme management capability to the end of Road Period 2; and
(4) Determining the scope for efficiencies resulting from these improvements- during Road Period 2.
