Medway Council is seeking to appoint a consultant to assess the feasibility of Deangate as a 'Community Hub' along with the other elements proposed below:
• Review public access into Deangate and Improving Public Transport connections to site.
• Viability of Deangate as a 'community hub' in relation to its location on the Hoo Peninsula.
• Potential to expand Deangate into a Country Park site from a 'Community Parkland'.
• Feasibility of re-opening Golf Driving Range and the Pitch and Putt course.
• Potential Mountain Bike Track/Bridleway on former Golf Course not currently designated as Community Parkland.
• Former gym and pro shop to be repurposed. Such as Café, small retail unit, farm shop. Potential to develop partnership with Deangate Bowls Club.
• Feasibility of changing former clubhouse building into a community, visitor centre or retail unit.
• Former groundskeeper shed to be repurposed into a volunteer space.
• Look at the feasibility of off-site facilities including a toilet block (compost toilets). Additional elements based at Grain Coastal Park • Feasibility of Catering unit
• A new Toilet Block All of the above will need to be assessed.
Options and associated costs will be required for each individual element.
These will all need to be included in a final report along with a professional recommendation.

A site visit within the first two weeks of the contract start date is expected, with Medway Council officer(s) in attendance.
