Description
There has been an increase in employers requesting for a better understanding of graduate skill set when progressing from education into industry. Through the use of digital badging, recruiters can see the skills and qualities developed during a candidates time in education or training. There are also case studies that suggest using digital badging or micro credentials can improve student engagement with learning and extra-curricular programmes.
Interest across the university has come from multiple channels where both academics and technical staff are looking at ways to give student accreditation for specific skills development such as use of machinery. Library services are also interested in how badging could improve student engagement with their services and evidence to employers the transferable skills achieved on a learner journey.
We are interested in gaining further information on the benefits and features that a Digital Badge Platform can offer us to help shape some requirements for a tender process.
